More good news comes from the Rank Group as the management announced that its Mecca Bingo hall operations has stabilised in the first six months of 2009. However, the priority of the bingo operator is now shifting to their online bingo business.

Rank's chief executive, Ian Burke declared that: "Rank performed well during the first half of the year, achieving profitable revenue growth in a difficult economic environment and further strengthening the Group's balance sheet through debt reduction."

The parent company Rank Group recently issued press statements explaining the financial performance of Mecca Bingo in the first half of 2009. Ian Burke believed that Rank Group has done a good job strengthening their hold in the UK gaming market. Their strategies for growth are certainly working and they have now reaped the rewards for a job well done. Part of their success strategies are to expand their portfolio of G casinos, introducing improvements to Mecca Bingo and shifting priorities for Rank Interactive to gaming sites particularly its website meccabingo.com. All these strategies are paying off for the company and this was reflected through the positive growth in their financial statements for the first six months this year.

Burke further added "The first half of the year has been marked by a number of positive changes to gaming regulations, resulting from improved understanding between the bingo industry and the Department for Culture Media and Sport."

There were some challenges of course but nothing insurmountable for Mecca Bingo. One of the few challenges they faced was the HM Treasury's fiscal policy. Another is the increase in taxation of the bingo.

Even though the economic situation has been uncertain in the UK, Mecca bingo still managed to attain positive growth. This proves that bingo and gaming in general has long-term prospects for success.

The operating profit before exceptional items resulted in £30.2m for Rank Group. In 2008, profit was pegged at £31.8m. The total profit for 2009 is a bit lower than that of 2008 but still post positive growth. The adjusted profit before tax amounted to £24.7m in the first half of 2009. This is significantly higher compared to £17.6m adjusted profit in 2008. Mecca also declared that they will focusing on the online bingo business this year.

Littlewoods Bingo is expecting their new slot machine game to be extremely successful, after the details of the huge amount of prize money that it offers was revealed. The new slot machine game, called ‘Monte Carlo Billions', is just one of the many different games and promotions that are currently being offered on the Littlewoods Bingo main site. Very few of the games offered by Littlewoods Bingo, or indeed any other online bingo or gaming brand, can rival the amount of prize money that ‘Monte Carlo Billions' gives away, however. The slot machine game gives its players the chance to win three jackpot prizes, and if no one wins them the prize fund will remain, with more money being added to it every time someone deposits money in order to play it.

The current jackpot that is being offered by the ‘Monte Carlo Billions' machine stands at one hundred and forty thousand pound, which is clearly a considerable sum. The amount of money in the prize fund could change any minute, however, because it all depends on when people win. If no one wins the game for a while the prize fund will be higher than it had been previously. The popularity of the game, however, and the fact that it is new to the Littlewoods Bingo site, means that it is always making money and than the prize fund is always likely to be high.

The ‘Monte Carlo Billions' slot machine can be played on Friday evenings, for the foreseeable future. It is probably doing so well because Friday nights are the most lucrative time for online bingo brands, as people are wanting to relax with a game of bingo after a long week at work. There is also a ‘no lose' feature in use, which means that everyone playing the game can win between a two and a ten thousand of the stakes of the slot line. This essentially means that everyone wins, which makes the game even more tempting for bingo players. The jackpot winner will be the player who wins the ten thousand stakes.

An online bingo site is offering a free family holiday as a prize to lucky players. The popular site, which was launched in August last year, is offering the expensive holiday as part of its end of summer promotion. The prize is also designed to help the site celebrate its first birthday, which falls at the end of August.

The holiday offered is promising to be luxurious, since its destination is in fact where the promotion for summer was shot. Pictures used in the birthday promotion, and in publicity for the holiday prize, show a long stretch of white beach, as well as a clear turquoise ocean behind it. Although the location has not been revealed, it is expected to be somewhere in the Caribbean, or in close proximately to that area. One lucky player will therefore surely be delighted with the prize when the winner is revealed. The prize includes all expenses, including the flights as well as obviously the hotel. The only thing that the bingo site will not pay for is the spending money. It is designed as a family holiday, for two adults and two children all to be paid for.

The site is offering this prize to any depositing member, which means that they must have set down some money on games on the site in order to be in with a chance of winning. Players can win the holiday by answering a question, the answer to which can be found somewhere on the bingo site itself. The name of the hotel that the winner will stay in, also found on the site, is a clue to the answer of the question.

The popular bingo site is known for being generous, and this promotion and prize clear is not an exception. In a typical week it will give away three million pounds, a very large amount for an online bingo gaming company. This is clearly why it has proved so popular, and why it has had such an impressive start in its first year.

The Bingo Card

One of the most important materials needed to play bingo is the card. This is where the player plays on. It is composed of squares with numbers on it. There are two types of games in bingo and there are also different kinds of card being used in each type. The two types of bingo game are the 75 ball game and the 90 ball game.

The card being used in a 75 ball game which has gain popularity for over a period of years is very different from that of the 90 ball game. The card has its 5x5 squares drawn on it. It has five columns and 5 rows. Each square has each number printed on it and must be unique from other cards. No two cards are exactly similar. The columns are represented by each letter from the word BINGO. The first column is represented by the letter B. The second column is represented by the letter I. The third one is the letter N while the fourth column is represented the letter G and the fifth or the last column is the letter O. This helps the player locate the numbers easily called by the caller. The caller has to announce the letter first and then the number right after he draws the ball. And a player marks the number on his card if he has one.

On the other hand, the 90 ball game uses different kind of cards. It is composed of nine columns of squares on it with three rows of squares. It contains non-repeated mixed numbers in each card.

Each player, either in a 75 ball game or 90 ball game, has what he or she considers as a lucky card. If someone has the chance to choose his own card before paying it then he has to grab the opportunity to do it. If each player believes that there is such a thing as a lucky person and lucky number it necessarily follows that there is also what they can call the lucky card.

As the balls keep on rolling together inside a cylinder everyone is expecting that every number that will come out will be found on their own card and will be able to mark first the exact pattern needed to achieve a bingo! Each card is very important for each player in the game for it consists the numbers that could make them a winner.

7 Card Stud Poker Rules

7 Card Stud poker is not that similar to Texas hold em or Omaha as it considered a much more historical game that every player at some point should learn how to play. Stud has developed into a game that is considered a lot harder then it used to be and requires a good deal of attention. Stud is also considered to be a lot more basic in terms of its rounds and its general looseness of certain rules.

For instance unlike Texas Hold em, Stud does not require a dealer to be chosen in any certain way and the dealer does not also have to change between hands. Furthermore the whole setup is a bit different as whilst have a small bet and large bet, stud also has the ‘Ante'. This acts as 10% of the large bet and is the first amount of chips/money that are thrown into the pot by each player at the beginning of the game.

Whilst Hold em starts betting from the left of the person who has made the ‘big blind' Stud uses ‘the bring' in order to start a betting round. For instance each player is given a card, and whoever holds the lowest value card is to make ‘the bring'. This involves making a bet that is equal to the size of the ‘ante'. The game is then continued on to the left of the person who made ‘the bring'.

Unlike other poker games when the game eventually continues to the show down, players are able to make a final hand of five cards out of the seven cards they hold. Stud does not have a many important rules to learn thee are only a few simple and somewhat small rules that need to be understood in order to play this poker game. This is what in turn differentiates this game from others. One of the main rules that should be taken into consideration is that if there are any three or more players left in any hand only one bet and 3 raises are allowed to be made. After this the betting is capped and players are only allowed to call or fold. Essentially this means there is some form of betting limit to the game.

Most of the players who are playing the Roulette game online want to win the Roulette game, so they dares to buy a system commonly known as sure fire system. This sure fire system is available for money, this system says that it provides continues and constant gain to the players playing the Roulette game online, but most of the time the system led to a failure result.

Playing Roulette in on line involves bet, but there is not a chance of a system to change the option of winning or losing. Mostly the mathematical probability will not work with the Roulette game. Playing roulette online and winning is a mere chance of luck.

The reason beyond which the mathematical probability or the chance of accuracy fails over here is that, the number of rotations that the spindle wheel or Roulette wheel makes is purely a random choice. Here you can’t even make a suggestion based on previous history, since the number of rotations made by the spindle wheel varies according to the strength applied over the roulette wheel, while making it to rotate.

The process of using mathematical calculations for constant and reliable gain while playing Roulette on line is really a point of disagreement. This seems to be a point of disagreement since the consistent historical data and mathematical formulas are not applicable. You can definitely derive an answer in mathematics, the method, you make for it and the result going to be obtained are known to you. But while playing roulette it is going to be exactly opposite. Here you can’t make probability or derive your winning process but still you can increase your option of winning by using the following points.

First thing you must consider while playing Roulette online is that when you get the option of switching between American roulette and European Roulette, make a choice of European Roulette. The best reason behind this is the version of European roulette has a total of thirty seven slots with single zero, were as the American version of Roulette has thirty eight slots with two zeros. Another advantage for selecting European version of Roulette while playing Roulette online is the advantage over house, the European version has a house advantage of about 2.7 % were as the house advantage for American roulette is about 5.26 %. So it is pretty easy to win with European version of roulette while playing Roulette online.

Always try to avoid single number bet, playing Roulette online, since the bets of single number has less chance of winning and pay outs. Then while considering other bets, five number bets are avoidable since they provide worst chance of winning the Roulette online.

Make your bet by considering with a low risk per cent playing Roulette online. Always plan to bet whose chances are nearer to the option of pay outs. These bets are called even bets. These include options over Even betting, Odd betting, Low betting and high betting.

A recent study showed and proved that playing bingo online is beneficial to the health of human beings both mentally and physically, albeit to a limited degree. A summary of the report showing the findings is provided below.

The result of the tests conducted revealed that bingo players were more accurate and faster in terms of measured memory, mental speed and ability to absorb information from the environment around them compared to those who did not play the game.

The research method used in the test utilized 112 people as test subjects within the age brackets of 18 to 40 and 60 to 82. The test group was then divided according to age brackets. The first half of each set played bingo the other half did not play bingo or remained passive.

The test groups were then asked to undergo testing and evaluation. The results were computed and evaluated. The conclusion was reached based on the results. The study revealed that all bingo players were more accurate and quicker than non-players.

Another interesting finding from the same study is that, in certain tests, the older players did better than the younger players. More and more research supports the theory that regular partaking of activities that exercise the mind is very beneficial to the maintenance of optimum mental functioning as a person gets older.

The study has proven that online bingo can have a positive effect on brain development and can improve mental capacity in players of all ages. This is fantastic news as players can feel happy in the fact that they are enjoying their bingo, chatting with friends and giving their brain the workout it needs all in the comfort of their own home. Some researchers have even found correlations with people who enjoy solving crosswords; they have found that both activities have similar effects on the brain.

The tests were conducted over a prolonged period of time to give an unbiased and accurate result. The tests showed that online bingo players have improved memory and more brain retention functions compared to people who do not play bingo. Studies also proved that bingo players had more focus on tasks and were able to complete tasks easier than non bingo players. The tests were largely based on the older generation, but it is widely believed that the younger generation can still benefit from the stimulation provided by online bingo.

Poker is one of those games, which can make any social gathering exciting. It is primarily a card game which is made interesting by associating it with cash .Its popularity is widespread and made special by having the so called ‘poker night'. These are get-togethers where friends and family spend some quality time together, eat good food, drink and smoke over nice sessions of poker. Winning or losing is not as important as having fun. It's the professional poker players who spend more than just a poker night or a few extra pounds and are in pursuit of a big win which can make their lives a lot better.
Poker was originally restricted to casinos where the general crowd competed with experienced gamblers. This has changed a lot as it makes more sense to enjoy a game of poker with friends who may throw a party when they win rather than with strangers who'll take away the winnings and never see you again. Poker presents a unique combination of luck and strategy which allows everyone to play on equal standing. The cards need to be kept hidden during gameplay. Any hints of how good or bad your cards are, would let your opponents gain an edge. Hiding your expressions and making them void of any emotions is termed as ‘poker face'. Even a random smile while playing, could let the players know that you have a good set of cards and become wary.

Poker players do cheat, like any other card game. This is not recommended as it makes a mess of a clean game where the best or the luckiest side wins. Another important factor which decides how much fun you have is money. One should never throw away money thoughtlessly just to get into the mood of the game. It could make you go broke very fast and force you to deal with debt. Poker allows upto eight players to play together. You can find a large community online, if you wish to be challenged by new opponents every day. Winning or losing is up to how you organize your game plan and stick to it.

We all know that roulette is a game of chance. A roulette wheel is essentially a physical random number generator. There might be an irony in the fact that in online roulette an electronic random number generator is used to emulate a wooden one. When we play roulette at a casino or online, we are just subjecting ourselves to the whims of randomness.

Or are we? Are there not some ways in which we can influence this randomness? Are there ways to exert some level of control over the outcome of a spin? Are there any ways of forecasting in advance what the result might be?

Some people believe that there are. The two ways in which we are able to control the outcome of random events are luck and will power.

Some people believe that by willing a particular outcome to occur, it is possible to increase the probability of that occurrence. There are some highly respected scientists who claim to have proven this experimentally.

There are other people who believe that luck plays a part in controlling the outcome of random events, and who believe that we are capable of establishing at least a modicum of control over luck.

Three quarters of gamblers openly believe in the influence of luck and are quite superstitious. These are the people who might have a lucky jacket to wear to the casino, or might carry a lucky charm. The way in which they play roulette may involve certain rituals and specific types of bets on specific numbers.

Fewer people will confess to believing they can influence the ball falling into a particular slot by willpower, but despite this it is fairly certain that all players will be willing a particular outcome. Perhaps they all cancel each other out.

We find that when we play roulette we think deeply about our choice of bet. We hum and we ha about it as though we are making a logical decision based on some information floating about in the ether. On the other hand, perhaps there is.

Derren Brown Correctly Predicts National Lottery Numbers

Derren Brown, a popular illusionist in the United Kingdom, has attempted an impossible feat just recently. He predicted the National Lottery numbers on television and the good part is he picked the right numbers.

Channel 4 covered Brown's prediction on Wednesday's lottery draw. The said event was covered in all of its channels. Brown selected the numbers in advance to see if they matched the official draw. Brown said ''I can't believe it'' when he succeeded in his attempt which defeated all odds and which betting providers would not allow punters to bet on.

The Lottery number prediction will start a new television series for Brown. Brown used to appear in a show wherein he did a Russian Roulette. Other tricks he did included contacting the dead and persuading the public to rob an armoured security van.

Brown was in an undisclosed studio location when he predicted the Lottery numbers. He told viewers that only he and two cameramen were in the room. First he showed to the viewers a line of balls containing the numbers he predicted will be drawn in the Lottery. The numbers cannot be shown to the public until after the BBC was able to screen the draw.

To prove that his show is not taped, he opened the television showing the BBC1 National Lottery draw. He pointed out that they were definitely live. As the draw machine was launched, an obviously nervous Brown apologised to the viewers beforehand if he got the numbers wrong. ''I should say this is the culmination of a year's obsession over this. I have had Lottery numbers all up over the walls of my house," he explained.

Brown watched intently on the television as the draw was made. The jackpot prize was £2.4m. He kept his mouth covered by his hand the entire time. Then finally, the six winning numbers were shown on screen : 2, 11, 23, 28, 35, 39.
He held a card with the winning numbers written on it then turned over the line of balls to show to the public the numbers he had chosen before the draw. And the numbers were exactly the same!

He promised to tell viewers how he did such a feat on Friday.

If you like a little sports betting on Formula One motor racing and you failed to back Rubens Barrichello to win last Sunday's race, you missed out on some very nice odds. The bookies were offering at least 8 to 1 and considering that this win was quite expected amongst many of the sports' fans, the bookies must have found the result rather expensive.

The bookies favourite had been the reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton, who in fact did have a masterful drive until the final lap when he clumsily spun off the track in third position; however he was never really in contention for a win. He was on a risky two stop strategy against the optimal single stop strategy used by Brawn GP, and the two Brawn GP drivers Barrichello and Jenson Button both drove faultless races.

There are only four more races remaining this season and it is almost certain that one of the Brawn drivers will pick up the championship. Given that you are not going to do much better then evens on either of them, it might be worth looking at some of the more interesting bets that can still be had. You can still get 100/1 on Nico Rosberg of Williams to win one of the remaining races. This might seem to be unlikely, but it is certainly possible. Williams performed very badly at Monza as it was a low down-force circuit, and they are not good at those; in fact they shine at high down-force circuits, and there are some of those yet to come. The Williams car is basically very fast and Rosberg has developed into a very good driver. So far this season it has not really come together, but there is still time.

The other Williams driver Kazuki Nakajima has not yet scored a point this season, but he is still quite likely to do so. You can get more or less evens on this.

Finally, although it seems almost certain that Brawn GP will win the constructors championship, you can get 14 to 1 that this will go to Red Bull Racing. Given that they are rapidly running out of engines, you would really need over 30 to 1 to make this a worthwhile prospect.

Is it the gambler just spinning the reels else his mind controls? These are some queries which are not answered with at-most satisfactory. To start up with an example wining a lot with just a stake $1000 makes the hand to pull the reel automatically. Next time he hits a jackpot, it’s the mind not wanting fore more. So both can not be paired or stopped. He still thinks this is not enough, so bets again and again. This is it all the control is set off the grounds, which may lead to a total loss or a tremendous gain.

On the other hand, they are hearing from the national broadcasters that we are going to lose every game, somewhere in between lies the truth. If I were a gambler I would just shut the thing off right away. Just like gambling is over the Sun always, feels like in the hot seat. Every time the player goes he is just not done yet, they’ve just got the gambling odds, funny isn’t that.

How much the point spreads are. Who’s going to win this game? I guess that’s gambling. But they can print it. This was all manipulated in there back ground of the human hardware. In slot machines it’s much awaited until the last thing is rolling. Now the pressure is more on the mind as no one knows what is going to happen at that moment. Now the money is on the mind and he is that total controller of the game now. Just keep winning the mind is in total control. Once lost, it’s hard to feel. Finally try to get back the lost things. This, what actually happens. There are people who just come play just play, don’t care whether they loose or win play their game and walk back. This people might also change once but not too often. They just play for their pride and glory. And, the crowd around them just go wild. Mind it, don’t ever play late at night or when the mind is too tired mentally.

Now think, is it necessary to go and gamble? Yes will be the mind’s answer. With the continual growth of the gambling industry, compulsive gambling will become a larger problem than it is now. It is uncertain which types of treatments have a greater effect on compulsive gambling, if any effect at all. Obviously, the amount of research money provided for this area of study is inadequate. More research can also go into the whether action and escape gamblers require different treatments. Safe and secure will be the call, but at the end of the day the will be a huge hole in the pockets.

The United Kingdom is a country in Europe that possesses a long and rich bingo tradition. Just like buying a car, go under the hood; dissect the content, so to speak. Examine the inner parts and thoroughly evaluate these sites, bearing in mind the qualities of a U.K. bingo player, a class of his own. This will help one determine whether the U.K. online bingo site is genuine/authentic or not for that matter. Also, this will help you choose the best sites that specifically cater to U.K. bingo players based on the quality of bingo online software, games selection, current promotions, progressive jackpots and more.

Also, look at the social interaction aspect of these sites. Remember, U.K. bingo heritage is, above all, one of meeting and socializing with other bingo enthusiasts. It is not just a game for the rich and famous. It is about making new friends, renewing old friendships, maintaining existing relationships, as well as making them last longer around the bingo cards.
What do we mean by luck?

Whatever game we enjoy, be it roulette, blackjack, poker or any other betting game, luck determines (at least to some extent) the outcome. But what exactly do we mean by luck?

Luck refers to a chance event, but it goes further than mere chance. It can be either good or bad. It can be attributed to an object or a time interval, for instance as in a lucky coin, or a lucky day. It can be embodied in a person; there can be lucky people and unlucky people. It can come in runs as in the experience of repeated losses (bad luck) or repeated wins (good luck). You can make lucky guesses and have unlucky marriages. Luck is pervasive in everything we do. Luck is ubiquitous.

Nearly all of us believe in luck. We perceive it as something out there; something if not quite tangible, something still quite real. Although we are not capable of controlling it, we certainly believe that we are capable of influencing it. Why otherwise would we touch wood? Luck is a phenomenon.

Luck can be passed on. We wish each other good luck, even when we might not truly mean it.

Luck distorts probability, or at least our perception of it. A run of wins is considered to be a lucky streak whereas in reality it is just a statistical event.

The ancients embodied our perception of luck in a god. The Romans called her Fortuna. She controlled the wheel of fortune, the rotation of which would bring good luck to some and bad luck to others. Harvests were controlled by her.

Some philosophers dismiss the idea of luck. They say that believing in luck takes away aspects of the way we control our lives and diminishes our attitudes to personal responsibility.

Perhaps they are right from a logical viewpoint, but can any of us really relinquish a fundamental belief in luck? It would be a far duller world without Fortuna, without Lady Luck.

We hope that you have it in buckets.

Online Poker Card Game

The popularity of online poker as a card game in online casino sites is unquestionable. Poker is often seen as a pastime that only the rich and famous can afford to do. But this is the furthest from the truth in reality. As a matter of fact, poker's appeal goes beyond political, racial and class considerations. Statistics reveal that one in every five Americans chooses poker as their favourite game. And this fact is duplicated everywhere in the world particularly in the United Kingdom. Traditional poker games as a matter of fact are very popular in many parts of the UK.

With the ongoing popularity of the internet, it is not unusual therefore to see a number of online casino sites offering online poker everyday. It would not be too much if one says that online casinos and online poker games are definitely here to stay.

Online poker to a large extent is similar to land-based casino poker but they do differ in some ways. First, is the fact that online poker is played over the internet while land-based poker is played in a live casino. The mode of payment also differs.

Playing online poker may take a lot more creativity and initiative. This is because in online poker you cannot see your opponent. Unlike in casino poker where you can see who you are playing against, it is quite difficult to spot the "tells" or the signs.

In order to spot "tells" online just remember these two points:

1.	Time patterns and tells. This is not exactly a reliable source of information but generally in looking for a time pattern, if the player takes longer than usual then probably he has a real hand. If it is fast, then most likely, he is bluffing. Unless the player is doing other things like taking a drink or if he plays multiple tables. Time pattern is not so relevant under the said scenarios.

2.	Betting patterns and tells. This is more reliable tell-tale sign than time patterns because they represent actual facts. Look at the player's betting patterns. How much does the player bet for different hands? And what moves would he likely make until showdown?

These "tells" may not necessarily be similar for all players. Different players often play differently but at least you can make an educated guess based on what you have observed.
